The middle yurt of three on the Crooked River, and dogs are welcome: beds for eight, two large dog beds and a deck bar over the meadow.
The bar-top rail on the covered deck looks across the snow to the neighbors.

Bring the dog
Blue and Green are the yurts that take dogs, and each keeps two large dog beds so yours sleeps warm while the couch and the beds stay clean. Keep dogs off the furniture. Before you leave, beat the dog beds out outside, away from the door, and slide them back under the bunks once the floor is clean.

Winter
When snow closes Crooked River Road to cars, the Blue Yurt is 3.3 miles from the nearest parked car. Ski, snowshoe or snowmobile in from the Whoop-Um-Up Park N' Ski lot on Highway 21, and pull kids or gear on a pulk. When you arrive, clear the solar panels on the porch roof, shovel the steps, then start the stove.
Inside

We are, at best, "glampers," and that's a stretch. But, the yurts were perfect for our camping adventure. Having the amenities available in them made it feel as comfy as it could be in the "wilderness". I would recommend them for all you "glampers", and campers.

325 Crooked River Road, Idaho City. In summer, drive 3 miles of graded gravel east from Highway 21 at the Edna Creek turnoff; the yurts sit about 50 yards off the road on the right. In winter, park at Whoop-Um-Up and ski in.
